Welcome to my Icon studio! It is dedicated to creating Iconography in the Orthodox tradition with a special emphasis on the revival of the carved icon. Icons are one of the most important developments of the Orthodox Catholic church. not to be confused with religious art which came as a result of the Renassance. Depictions of Christ and the saints were painted and carved on the walls, and tombs, in the catacombs of Rome which served as a worship place for the persecuted early Christians. These depictions, served to remind worshipers that the living Church created by Jesus Christ surrounds them along with the martyrs. This tradition continues unbroken to this very day. Truly icons as the Russians say are "Windows unto Heaven"
